English Language in Context — Advanced English in central London

Boutique · Central London · B2+ / C1

Advanced doesn't mean finished.

You already speak English well. This is the part that comes next — precision, register and nuance, with one teacher and nine other advanced professionals.

The programme

Most courses teach the language. This one teaches you to use it.

One experienced teacher from beginning to end, alongside a carefully selected group of no more than ten advanced learners. Every lesson builds on the last — progress through continuity, challenge and purposeful communication.

No changing teachers

One teacher, start to finish

Andy learns your habits and blind spots in the first days, then builds what follows around them.

No mixed levels

Advanced only, ten at most

Everyone in the room is already fluent, so the conversation never slows down to accommodate a beginner.

No repetition

Every lesson builds on the last

A continuous arc rather than a series of standalone topics — you'll notice the difference within the week.

The city is part of the syllabus.

Inside a week

Five mornings that don't repeat themselves.

Monday to Friday, 9:00–14:00. Discussion, close listening, work on precision — then out into the city and back with material.

replace — small group discussion

Discussion of complex ideas — the whole group, every morning.

replace — one-to-one feedback

Individual attention — on your habits, not generic errors.

Who it's for

Professionals who work in English.

01 — At work

You work in English, and you can feel the ceiling.

Meetings go well enough. Then the room gets fast, or ironic, or political, and the version of you that speaks English isn't quite the version of you that speaks your own language.

replace — a meeting or presentation

02 — Your level

You've outgrown the traditional language school.

You don't need another grammar syllabus. You need precision, register and nuance — the layer that stops being taught the moment you're considered fluent.

replace — study materials, close up

03 — What's ahead

Interviews, presentations, leadership.

You're preparing for rooms where the language decides the outcome. We rehearse those rooms, five mornings a week, in central London.

replace — speaking in front of a group

04 — The group

Nine other people who are just as serious.

Ten learners at most, all advanced, one teacher throughout. No mixed levels, no revolving door, nothing repeated because someone new arrived.

Your teacher

Andy Cropper

For more than a decade I've taught advanced English to professionals, university students and executives from around the world. This programme reflects everything I've learned about helping ambitious learners move from speaking English well to using English naturally.

The class is intentionally small, carefully matched and academically focused — because every learner deserves thoughtful teaching, meaningful challenge and individual attention.
