Cancellation & refund policy
We understand that plans can change, particularly when travelling internationally. Our aim is to keep this simple, fair and transparent.
Cancelling your course
If you need to cancel your place, please let us know in writing by email as soon as possible.
Changing your dates
We would much rather help you attend than have you cancel.
Where possible, you may transfer your booking to another available ELIC course date. Please contact us as early as you can and we will do our best to accommodate the change.
Any transfer is subject to availability, and to any difference in the course price applicable to the new dates.
After your course has started
Once your course has begun, course fees are normally non-refundable.
If you are unable to continue because of exceptional circumstances, please contact us. We will consider genuine exceptional circumstances individually and may, at our discretion, offer a transfer, credit or partial refund.
We recommend that international students hold appropriate travel insurance covering unexpected cancellation or interruption of their trip.
Activities and events
ELIC courses may include social, cultural or educational activities as part of the programme. Individual activities may occasionally need to be changed, rescheduled or replaced with a suitable alternative.
A change to an individual activity does not normally entitle a student to a refund of their course fee.
If ELIC cancels your course
If we have to cancel your course before it begins, you will receive a full refund of all course fees paid, or you may choose to transfer your booking to another available course date.
We cannot reimburse separate costs such as flights, accommodation, insurance or other travel expenses. Students are therefore strongly encouraged to hold appropriate travel insurance.
14-day cancellation rights
Where UK consumer law gives you a statutory right to cancel an online or distance booking within 14 days, ELIC will honour that right.
If you ask us to begin providing your course or other services during this period and then cancel, we may deduct the reasonable cost of services already provided, where permitted by law.
Your statutory rights are not affected by this policy.
Refund payments
Approved refunds are normally processed within 14 days of confirmation, and returned to the original payment method wherever possible.
The time taken for funds to appear in your account may depend on your bank or payment provider.
Accommodation
Accommodation is not provided by ELIC and is not included in the course fee. Any accommodation booked independently by a student is subject to the cancellation and refund terms of that provider.

Please email us quoting your name, course dates and booking details.
We will confirm your cancellation or requested change in writing.
